11 April

Russian Presidential Special Envoy for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov, had a telephone conversation with Hussein al-Sheikh, a member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) and a member of the Fatah Central Committee. The discussion focused on the challenges of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, the urgent need for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, and the provision of humanitarian aid to the Palestinian population.

"The conversation covered the pressing issues of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, the imperative for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, and the delivery of essential humanitarian assistance to the Palestinian population," the Russian Foreign Ministry stated in a press release.

Additionally, the conversation underscored the significance of international cooperation in establishing an independent Palestinian state within the 1967 borders, especially in light of the ongoing discussions at the United Nations regarding granting Palestine full UN membership.
