Book of Condolence Opened in Russia to Honor Khamenei and Other Victims in Iran

05 March

The Iranian Embassy in Moscow has opened a book of condolences to honor the memory of the late Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and other victims of the US and Israeli military aggression against Iran, according to a TASS correspondent.

The condolence book has been placed in one of the halls at the residence of the Iranian Ambassador to Moscow, Kazem Jalali. For two days — March 5 (from 14:00 to 18:00) and March 6 (from 10:00 to 17:00)— representatives of embassies and diplomatic missions based in Moscow, Russian parliamentarians, and political, religious, and state figures will be able to visit the ambassador's residence to express their condolences and sympathy to the people and government of Iran, as well as to leave a signed entry.

People have been arriving at the residence since the book was first opened. The head of the Iranian diplomatic mission has been meeting arrivals in person. Inside the hall, portraits of the late Supreme Leader and other victims of the military aggression against the Islamic Republic are displayed near the table holding the book of condolences.

The official farewell ceremony for the leader of the Islamic Republic was previously postponed in Iran. According to local state television, the delay is due to the unprecedented number of people expected to attend the funeral rites. It was noted that the exact time of the farewell ceremony will be announced at a later date.
