The foreign ministers of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan are scheduled to convene in Dushanbe for a meeting. The agenda includes discussions on the final documents for the upcoming consultative meeting of Central Asian heads of state, as well as on various international and regional issues.
The Tajik Foreign Ministry informed TASS that "the ministerial meeting will be presided over by Tajikistan's Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Mukhriddin." "During this meeting, the foreign ministers will review and endorse the draft agenda for the fifth consultative meeting of the Central Asian heads of state, along with the list of its final documents," the ministry reported.
The foreign ministry also highlighted that the ministers will discuss the ongoing development of cooperation within Central Asia and will address current international and regional matters.
It's been pointed out that expert consultations for finalizing the documents of the regional summit and the meeting of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea (IFAS) took place in Dushanbe on September 12. "During these consultations, the texts of drafts for the joint statement by the heads of states regarding the outcomes of the fifth consultative meeting of Central Asian heads of state, the Dushanbe statement by the founding heads of IFAS, and the package of final documents for the Dushanbe summits were all agreed upon," stated the foreign ministry.
The fifth consultative meeting of Central Asian heads of state will take place in Dushanbe on September 14-15. During the same period, a meeting of the IFAS Council is also scheduled. The IFAS Council was established in 1993 with the aim of addressing ecological challenges and enhancing the socio-economic conditions in the Aral Sea region.
