Chad is working on the abolition of visas for Russian citizens, with changes potentially coming into effect by the end of 2024, Chad's Ambassador to Moscow Adam Beshir Mahamud told TASS.
"We are working on the introduction of a visa-free regime with Russia," the diplomat stated. He indicated that the visa abolition for Russian citizens traveling to Chad might occur before the end of 2024.
The ambassador clarified that the decision would initially apply to holders of diplomatic and service passports and later extend to holders of ordinary passports.
Previously, Russian Economic Development Minister Maxim Reshetnikov announced that Russia is preparing for the complete abolition of visas with several countries in the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Africa, and Latin America.
