As part of Russia's strategic partnership with the Islamic world, Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan and Chairman of the Group of Strategic Vision “Russia – Islamic World” Rustam Minnikhanov paid a working visit to the Sultanate of Oman. The Group of Strategic Vision “Russia – Islamic World” played an active role in preparing and organizing the visit, underscoring the importance of dialogue in strengthening interstate ties.
The highlight of the visit was Rustam Minnikhanov's meeting with Mulham Al- Jarf, Special Advisor to the Oman Investment Authority. The Republic's Rais noted the particular importance Tatarstan attaches to developing cooperation with the Sultanate, seeing this as a significant contribution to strengthening friendly relations between Russia and Oman.

"We consider the further development of our economic and investment ties to be extremely important. Tatarstan -Oman trade turnover increased 15-fold in 2023, reaching $20 million," Rustam Minnikhanov said, emphasizing the need to overcome the recent decline. He emphasized, "We have many opportunities for cooperation, primarily in the economy. We must work to increase mutual trade volumes."
During the talks, promising areas of cooperation were discussed in detail, including energy, industry, petrochemicals, agriculture, and information technology. Rustam Minnikhanov presented Tatarstan's industrial and economic potential, recalling that the republic is a recognized center for developing contacts between Russia and the Islamic world. The upcoming opening of a representative office of the Republic of Tatarstan in Oman will be an important step in deepening relations.
The meeting focused on the role of the international economic forum "Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum". The Republic's leader thanked the Omani delegation for its participation in previous forums and extended an official invitation to attend this year's event.
Mulham Al- Jarf expressed gratitude to Rustam Minnikhanov for his personal contribution to building bilateral relations and warmly recalled his visit to Kazan and the traditional Tatarstan hospitality. He outlined the areas of greatest interest to the Omani side: food security, IT, artificial intelligence, and halal nutrition, particularly for children.
"Consider Oman your second home. We want to cooperate with you," the Special Advisor declared. As a sign of his commitment, he promised to form a representative delegation from the Oman Investment Authority to participate in the upcoming KazanForum.

The visit marked another practical step in implementing a long-term strategy to expand Tatarstan's economic and humanitarian cooperation with countries in the Islamic world, in which the Group of Strategic Vision plays a key coordinating role.
