Chairman of the State Duma Committee of the Russian Federation on International Affairs, Chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia Leonid Slutsky highly appreciated the participation of the leadership of the Republic of Tatarstan in the preparation of the economic summit “Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum 2024”. He told reporters about this during the event. The International Economic Forum of Russia and the countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation was held from May 14 to 19, 2024 in the capital of Tatarstan, Kazan.
“I would like to thank the leadership of the Republic of Tatarstan, as well as everyone - these are hundreds and thousands of people who are busy organizing the economic forum “Russia - Islamic World” and participating in the preparation of the upcoming BRICS summit, which will take place on October 22 in Kazan”, - the chairman of the State Duma Committee of the Russian Federation on International Affairs expressed his gratitude.
Leonid Slutsky noted that Russia is currently presides in the world's largest integration association (we are talking about BRICS - editor's note), while Tatarstan plays a key and growing role in organizing annual major international events.
“Kazan is truly a key international platform, which is exactly that far beyond the borders of Russia”, - Slutsky emphasized. The Chairman of the Russian State Duma Committee on International Affairs also expressed wishes to the leadership of Tatarstan for continued significant participation in the development of international relations between the Russian Federation and the republic with the constant and active participation of the Russian state.
It is important to note that Leonid Slutsky also took part in the IX International Conference of the Group of Strategic Vision “Russia - Islamic World” on the topic “Fair Multipolar World Order and Secure Development”, held on May 16, 2024. During his speech, the chairman of the Russian State Duma Committee on International Affairs stated that the activities of the GSV “Russia-Islamic World” oppose the policy of double standards and political pressure from forces wishing to build a unipolar world order. According to Slutsky, such a destructive approach has passed the point of no return and today only a multipolar world is possible.
The Chairman of the Russian State Duma Committee on International Affairs recalled the new concept of Russian foreign policy, approved by Russian President Vladimir Putin in March 2023, where there is a separate section called “Islamic World”. Friendly Islamic states are becoming popular and reliable partners of Russia in matters of security, economics, culture and science.
In addition, during his speech at the conference, Leonid Slutsky expressed gratitude to the personal contribution of the Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Chairman of the GSV “Russia-Islamic World” Rustam Minnikhanov, as well as the efforts of the entire Group as a whole in the consistent and progressive development of a multipolar world architecture.
