Leaders of the Commonwealth of Independent States have personally extended birthday wishes to Russian President Vladimir Putin in telephone calls, according to a statement from the Kremlin press service.
Among those who called President Putin were President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan of Armenia, President Alexander Lukashenko of Belarus, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan, President Emomali Rahmon of Tajikistan, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov of Turkmenistan, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan.
The leaders warmly congratulated Putin on his birthday. The Kremlin noted that "the telephone conversations also touched upon issues of developing bilateral relations and upcoming joint work at the upcoming CIS Council of Heads of State meeting in Dushanbe."
In addition to the phone calls, all CIS heads of state have sent written congratulatory messages to President Putin.
