The member states of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) have expressed their commitment to supporting the establishment of a peaceful Afghanistan, free from war, terrorism, and drug trafficking. This stance was outlined in a declaration issued by the CSTO Collective Security Council and published on the Kremlin’s official website.
“We advocate for Afghanistan’s emergence as a peaceful, independent, and unified state, free from war, terrorism, and drugs,” the declaration states.
The CSTO emphasized the importance of forming a government in Afghanistan that represents the interests of all societal and ethnic groups. “We note the significance of establishing an inclusive government in Afghanistan that represents all segments of the population and ethnic groups, which is a key factor in ensuring a stable and prosperous Afghanistan,” the declaration further noted.
Humanitarian Aid and Economic Integration
The CSTO also called on the international community to increase humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan to support its population and infrastructure development. “We urge the global community to enhance humanitarian aid to Afghanistan. We believe that fostering economic interconnectivity and integrating Afghanistan into regional economic systems will contribute to peace and stability,” the document emphasized.
Additionally, the declaration highlighted the potential of multilateral platforms for addressing the Afghan situation, including initiatives under the aegis of the United Nations.
