The Government of the Republic of Dagestan is set to sign its first-ever cooperation agreement with the government of Muscat in 2026. This milestone was announced by Marat Osmanov, head of the MFA representative office in Makhachkala, during a press conference at the TASS Caucasus regional information center.
"We have previously discussed the Sultanate of Oman in the context of agreements between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Export Support Center," Osmanov stated. "This year, both parties are moving to a new level by concluding a comprehensive agreement between the government of the Republic of Dagestan and the government of Muscat. The draft agreement has already been cleared by the relevant federal executive authorities on the Russian side, and we expect the official signing to take place this year."
According to Osmanov, the agreement is designed to significantly bolster trade and economic ties between the two regions. He further noted that the republic intends to intensify its international cooperation throughout 2026, with a particular focus on strengthening relationships with CIS member states.
