Ravil Akhmetshin, the Deputy Prime Minister of Tatarstan and Plenipotentiary Representative of the Republic of Tatarstan in the Russian Federation, and Farit Mukhametshin, the Advisor to the Chairman of the Group of Strategic Vision (GSV) "Russia – Islamic World", met with Oleg Peresypkin, an Honorary Professor of the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In August 2025, Ambassador Peresypkin, a Merited Worker of the Diplomatic Service of Russia and Doctor of Historical Sciences, celebrated his 90th birthday.
During the meeting, he highlighted the significant role played by Rustam Minnikhanov, the Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan, in his capacity as Chairman of the GSV "Russia – Islamic World", for his efforts in fostering closer ties between Russia and the Islamic world.
Oleg Peresypkin is a prominent Russian diplomat who specialized throughout his career in the Arab world. At various times, he served as the USSR Ambassador to Libya and Yemen, and as the Russian Ambassador to Lebanon. He also previously led the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
His extensive experience and knowledge have profoundly influenced the training of an entire generation of international relations specialists. Furthermore, he is the author of more than 20 books and 100 articles focusing on the modern history and politics of Arab nations.
