EAEU Identifies First Subsidy Recipients

03 February

The Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) has selected the first two projects to receive community subsidies under a new support mechanism. These initiatives, focused on high technology, are being implemented by companies from Russia, Belarus, and Kazakhstan. Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin announced the decision during an operational meeting with his deputies, following his visit to Kazakhstan from January 29 to 31.

"Two projects have been identified for support under the new subsidy mechanism for business initiatives from three countries. Companies from Russia, Belarus, and Kazakhstan will jointly engage in the production of high-tech, in-demand products," Mishustin stated.

He also noted plans to expand this subsidy program to other economic sectors. Previously, EAEU subsidies were primarily directed toward the agricultural sector, as discussed at the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council meeting in Almaty.

"Our joint efforts continue to unlock the transport and logistics potential of the union, enhance connectivity across our territories, and develop an integrated information system for electronic data and document exchange among the five member states," Mishustin added.

The prime minister instructed deputy prime ministers to oversee the implementation of agreements with Russia’s EAEU partners in their respective areas.
