Eight Palestinians Killed as Indonesian Hospital in Gaza Comes Under Shelling

20 November 2023

At least eight individuals were killed in an Israeli artillery strike targeting an Indonesian hospital in the northern Gaza Strip. Al Mayadeen, broadcasting from Beirut, reported that the shelling resulted in the complete destruction of the hospital's operating department.

The situation in the Middle East has sharply escalated following the infiltration of militants from the Palestinian movement Hamas into Israel on October 7. The militants justified their actions as a response to Israeli authorities' perceived provocations against the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem. In response, Israel implemented a comprehensive blockade of Gaza and initiated retaliatory strikes against it, as well as parts of Lebanon and Syria. Concurrently, clashes are unfolding in the West Bank, underscoring the heightened tensions in the region.
