EMERCOM Special Aircraft to Deliver Additional 21 Tons of Humanitarian Aid to Gaza

A special aircraft from the Russian Emergencies Ministry has taken off, carrying humanitarian aid destined for the population of the Gaza Strip, according to the ministry's press service.

 

"The IL-76 airplane of the Russian Emergencies Ministry flew from Zhukovsky International Airport to the airport of the city of El-Arish. The cargo includes emergency lighting units, generators, medicines, and foodstuffs with a total weight of about 21 tons," announced the ministry.

 

The flight is conducted under the directive of Russian President Vladimir Putin and Minister of Emergency Situations Alexander Kurenkov, in collaboration with the International Civil Defense Organization. Upon reaching Egypt, the cargo will be transferred to representatives of the Egyptian Red Crescent Society for distribution to Gaza.

 

This marks the fifth shipment of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip since the escalation of the situation in the region began. Previous deliveries included 140 tons of supplies such as food, medicines, bandages, mattresses, pillows, blankets, personal hygiene products, clothing, and portable stoves.
