The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit made it clear that China and Russia are leading the way toward a new, justice-oriented world order in contrast to the US-led unipolar system, according to Iranian political analyst Ruhollah Modabber in a conversation with TASS.
“The most recent SCO summit stands out as one of the most significant events and marks the beginning of a new global order. I am convinced that Russian President Vladimir Putin was the most important and special guest at the meeting, as reflected in the way he was received and the length of his discussions with other leaders—especially his meeting with Xi Jinping. Russia and China are already busy shaping the architecture of this new order,” Modabber said.
He noted that statements by both Putin and Xi focused mainly on building a just international framework and resisting the unipolar, hegemonic approach of the United States and its Western allies. “The world is already moving rapidly in a new direction, and the wide media coverage of the SCO summit—along with the high number of participants—serves as proof of the success of this project,” the analyst added.
