Exports of goods from Iran to Russia increased by 30% in annual terms

The export of goods from Iran to Russia has increased by 30% in annual terms. This was reported by the ISNA news agency on Sunday, citing the Islamic Republic's customs data, which were published on the results of 1401 by the Iranian calendar, which corresponds to the period from March 2022 to March 2023.


According to the statistics, during that period Russia bought 1.419 million tons of goods worth $743.882 million from Iran, and moved up from 11th to 10th place in the list of the largest importers of the republic. According to the agency, Russia imported the most "parts of turbojet or turboprop engines, except for fixed and moving blades of gas turbines." This item accounts for $68 million, or 9.21% of the value of all goods in the structure of exports.


On May 19, Deputy Minister of Economic Development of Russia Dmitry Volvach said that in 2022, the volume of foreign trade turnover between the two countries increased by 20% compared with the previous year, up to $5 billion.
