On June, 22, in Moscow, Deputy Chairman of the Committee of the Federation Council on International Affairs, Deputy Chairman of the Group of Strategic Vision “Russia – Islamic World” Farit Mukhametshin took part in the ceremony of awarding the Honoris Causa degree of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences to Secretary General of the Muslim World League Mohammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, who was on a visit to Russia.
The corresponding diploma and robe of the Honoris Causa was solemnly presented to the Saudi guest by a member of the Group of Strategic Vision, Academic Director of the Russian Academy of Sciences Institute of Oriental Studies Vitaly Naumkin. The event was attended by a number of ambassadors of Muslim states in Russia, representatives of the State Duma and the Federation Council, religious figures, scientists-Arabists, etc.

For his part, Secretary General of the Muslim World League thanked the Russian side for such a high appreciation of his efforts in the sphere of strengthening bilateral relations, emphasizing the importance of inter-cultural and inter-civilizational interaction.
