The Federation Council of Russia expects upcoming visits from delegations of the Arab Parliament, Libya, and Djibouti, announced Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko while opening the spring parliamentary session.
"A significant amount of work lies ahead in inter-parliamentary activities. In January, we hosted the President of the Central African Republic and a parliamentary delegation from Slovakia. In the near future, we expect visits from delegations of the Arab Parliament, Libya, and Djibouti," Matviyenko stated.
She added that during the spring session, several Federation Council delegations are scheduled to visit countries in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America. Additionally, interregional forums will be held with Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Armenia. Preparations are also underway for the 12th Forum of Russian and Belarusian Regions and the 11th Nevsky International Ecological Congress.
"We will continue to develop bilateral and multilateral contacts with all interested partners. We see that the vast majority of countries in the world are inclined toward constructive cooperation with Russia," the senator noted.
Matviyenko emphasized that "harmonious global development is impossible without Russia." "This is an axiom. And those who go against our country inevitably lose the trust and support of their own citizens. There are already plenty of such examples," she concluded.
