Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated that he held productive talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in Ankara, discussing prospects for strengthening cooperation on a wide range of issues.
“Global and regional dynamics are changing, and every day we face new challenges that we must address. At the same time, new opportunities are emerging, and we need to focus on them. In such a period, expanding consultations and coordination between Turkey and Russia in the face of developments that directly or indirectly affect our countries would be highly beneficial. Keeping this in mind, today we held productive meetings with Mr. Lavrov. We discussed our bilateral agenda in detail and exchanged views on how to further develop our cooperation,” Fidan said at a press conference following the talks.
He emphasized that “in line with the objectives set by our presidents, both countries are committed to further deepening cooperation on bilateral and international issues.” According to Fidan, there is an opportunity to strengthen ties even further in many areas and “develop multifaceted cooperation across all sectors with the involvement of relevant institutions.”
