The official ceremony for the transfer of the fuel is scheduled for October 5 and will involve the participation of Alexei Likhachev, CEO of Rosatom State Corporation. Russian President Vladimir Putin and Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina are expected to join the ceremony remotely.

The Ruppur nuclear power plant, Bangladesh's first, is equipped with two VVER-1200 reactors boasting a combined capacity of 2.4 thousand MW. It is being constructed under the Russian project, situated 160 kilometers from Dhaka. The project costs $12.65 billion, with plans to commission the first power unit at the Ruppur NPP in 2024.
