22 January

Kyrgyzstan and Russia enjoy a relationship characterized by full mutual understanding, trust, and the absence of political disagreements, according to Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev. He made these remarks during the opening of talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in Moscow.

"I would like to note that the high level of bilateral contacts and active cooperation enable us to address issues on the Kyrgyz-Russian agenda promptly, based on complete mutual understanding and respect. There is full mutual understanding and trust between our countries, without any political disagreements or contradictions," Kulubaev stated.

Active Political Dialogue

Kulubaev emphasized the importance of the ongoing political dialogue between the two countries. He highlighted the official visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Kyrgyzstan in October 2023 and noted that Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov visited Russia five times last year. According to him, the frequency of high-level contacts continues to increase.

"On many key issues, we always take common positions and support each other's initiatives within international organizations and integration associations," Kulubaev added.

Strengthening Cooperation

Earlier, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova noted that Lavrov and Kulubaev would sign a cooperation program between the foreign ministries of Russia and Kyrgyzstan for 2025-2027. They are also expected to discuss topics such as Eurasian integration, global and regional security, and the coordination of joint actions on international platforms.
