Four Syrian servicemen were wounded during mortar shelling by militants of illegal armed groups controlled by Turkey, Rear Admiral Vadim Kulit, deputy head of the Russian Center for the Reconciliation of the Warring Parties in Syria, said on Wednesday.
"Fighters of illegal armed groups operating in the Idlib de-escalation zone, controlled by Turkey, shelled the positions of Syrian government forces in the area of Urum al-Sughra of Aleppo province, Maaret Muhos settlement of Idlib province and Sanjek settlement of Latakia province," Kulit noted during the briefing.
As the deputy head of the center specified, "four Syrian servicemen were wounded as a result of the mortar shelling."
A total of 29 shelling from the terrorist group "Jabhat al-Nusra" (activity banned in Russia), including in Idlib, Latakia, Aleppo and Hama provinces, were recorded in the Idlib de-escalation zone over the past 24 hours.
"The Russian Center for the Reconciliation of the Warring Parties calls on the commanders of illegal armed groups to abandon armed provocations and take the path of peaceful resolution of the situation in the areas under their control," stressed Kulit.
