France Hands Over Its Last Military Bases in Senegal

France has officially withdrawn its remaining troops from Senegal, ending 65 years of military presence in the West African nation, Agence France-Presse reported.

 

On Thursday, the final two French military facilities in Senegal were formally handed over to local authorities during a ceremony marking the end of France’s permanent military presence not only in Senegal but across Central and West Africa.
