Gaza Health Ministry Reports 226 Deaths Since Start of Ceasefire

The number of people killed by Israel in the Gaza Strip has risen to 226 since the recent ceasefire came into effect, according to the Health Ministry in the Palestinian enclave.

 

The ministry reported that nearly 600 people have been wounded during this period. Over the past 48 hours, Gaza hospitals received the bodies of 22 deceased individuals, while nine others were admitted with injuries.

 

The overall death toll from Israeli military operations in Gaza since October 7, 2023, has now reached 68,858, with more than 170,000 people injured, the ministry stated.

 

In a separate development, the Health Ministry also announced that Israel has returned the bodies of 13 more deceased Palestinians to Gaza. This brings the total number of bodies repatriated to the enclave with the assistance of the International Committee of the Red Cross under the ceasefire agreement to 225.
