On September 10, the delegation of the Group of Strategic Vision (GSV) “Russia –Islamic World,” consisting of Farit Mukhametshin, Adviser to the Chairman of the Group, and Airat Akhmetov, Head of the Group’s International Relations Department, met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Islamic Republic of Iran, Alexey Dedov.
Farit Mukhametshin informed the Ambassador about the Group's participation in the 39th International Islamic Unity Conference, shared his main observations, and described the tone of the speeches made by foreign participants at the meeting. The Russian Ambassador, positively assessing the Group's active engagement in the events of the conference, stressed that the arrival of the delegation and its speech at the plenary session attended by Iran’s President boosted the Group’s profile and expanded its contacts with the expert community and religious leaders of Muslim countries.
The Russian Ambassador familiarized the guests with the situation in the country and spoke about the recent strengthening of trade, economic, and humanitarian ties between Russia and Iran. In particular, he noted that a representative from the Republic of Tatarstan will soon work within the Russian Trade Mission in Iran. Regarding humanitarian ties, increased activity is expected from the Rossotrudnichestvo Office, with the opening of a Cultural Center in the near future.
The meeting was also attended by Counselor-Envoy Rafael Gevorkyan and First Secretary Dinis Nafikov.
