GSV Deputy Chairman Conducts Working Visit to Egypt

Marat Gatin, Deputy Chairman of the Group of Strategic Vision "Russia–Islamic World" and Assistant to the Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan, has concluded a working visit to Egypt.


During his stay, Gatin met with Russian Ambassador to Egypt Georgy Borisenko, briefing him on the Group's activities in the Egypt direction. He highlighted the recent visit of an Al-Azhar University delegation to the 4th Kazan Global Youth Summit, which brought together over 200 delegates from 45 countries. Gatin also outlined plans for future cooperation with Egyptian academic, cultural, humanitarian, and business communities, including discussions on Russia's participation in the 2026 International Cairo Book Fair.

The Tatarstan delegation included agricultural sector representatives, led by Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic Rustem Gainullov, who held several bilateral meetings with Egyptian counterparts to explore agricultural cooperation.


Further discussions with the director of the International Cairo Book Fair resulted in an agreement for the Group's participation in the upcoming event.

Gatin also met with Egyptian Group member Ezzat Saad, Director of the Egyptian Council for Foreign Affairs and former Ambassador to Russia. The meeting was attended by Egyptian Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Abdullah al-Batish, who oversees youth policy, with detailed discussions on joint youth initiatives.

Additionally, Gatin held talks with representatives of the Egypt-Russia Friendship Society, including Dr. Saleh Hashim and Dr. Muhammad al-Ghibali, focusing on scientific and educational cooperation between the two countries.
