On the eve of Defender of the Fatherland Day, Novosibirsk hosted a major dialogue centered on patriotism rooted in traditional values. The VII International Conference focused on a central theme: "Traditional Islam as the Foundation of Patriotism—Defending the Fatherland as a Muslim’s Amanat." Representing the Group of Strategic Vision (GSV) "Russia – Islamic World" was Gulshat Valiullina, Director of the Yardem Charitable Foundation, which specializes in rehabilitation services.
During her address, Valiullina conveyed greetings from Marat Gatin, Assistant to the Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan and Deputy Chairman of the GSV. She provided an overview of the Group’s ongoing mission to foster inter-civilizational dialogue and strengthen partnerships between Russia and the Muslim world.
The centerpiece of her report was the "Marhamat Kuly" ("Hand of Mercy") social project, described as a systematic response to modern societal challenges. This initiative provides a professional training program for long-term care specialists, blending clinical medical skills with the ethical service standards found in Islamic tradition.
"Over two years of practical implementation, the project has trained more than 180 caregivers and social workers through a specialized 60-hour course on Social Service in Islam," Valiullina noted. She explained that the initiative, which originated in Tatarstan, is now expanding to Izhevsk and Ulyanovsk, with a dedicated online platform currently in development to scale the program across Russia. A significant focus of the project is providing holistic spiritual and psychological support to returning veterans of the Special Military Operation, offering them a comprehensive path toward reintegration and personal harmony.
The presentation drew significant interest from regional delegates gathered in Novosibirsk. Participants discussed potential collaborations, noting that initiatives like "Marhamat Kuly", anchored in the timeless values of mercy, serve as effective tools for addressing social issues and fostering national unity.
