UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres discussed with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Monday prospects for a Palestinian-Israeli settlement. The Palestinian Authority's press service reports that the discussion was held on Monday at the UN General Assembly in New York.
The text notes that "the UN Secretary-General and President Abbas discussed developments in the occupied Palestinian territory."
"Guterres and President Abbas reaffirmed a shared commitment to efforts to achieve a two-state solution with Jerusalem as the capital for Israel and Palestine in accordance with international law and previous agreements," the UN informed.
