The Palestinian group Hamas has handed over the remains of four Israelis , including two children, to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), according to Al-Qahira Al-Ikhbariya.
Footage from the scene shows ICRC vehicles carrying the bodies leaving Khan Younis in southern Gaza, where the transfer ceremony took place. The vehicles are reportedly heading towards Israeli military locations.
Earlier, the Red Cross called for the transfer of the bodies to be conducted "in a confidential manner and with respect for human dignity." Hamas and the Islamic Jihad group set up a public display in Khan Younis before handing over the bodies to ICRC personnel, similar to previous hostage releases.
Hamas claims to have handed over the bodies of members of the Bibas family, including nine-month-old Kfir Bibas and his four-year-old brother Ariel, as well as Oded Lifshitz. Once the remains arrive in Israel, forensic experts are expected to examine them to confirm the identities of the deceased and determine the cause of death.
