Hamas Holds Biden Responsible for Military Storming of Al-Shifa Hospital

15 November 2023

The Palestinian movement Hamas has held US President Joe Biden responsible for the Israeli army's operation against the largest Al-Shifa hospital in the Gaza Strip. The group conveyed this message through its Telegram channel.

"We hold the occupiers (Israel), President Biden, and his administration fully responsible for the attack on the Al-Shifa medical complex," they stated. Hamas denounced the Israeli military's operation as "a brutal crime against a medical facility protected by the Geneva Convention," vowing that "the occupation leaders and all those who colluded with them will be held accountable for killing children, the sick, and defenseless civilians."

Hamas had previously denied the claims made by the Pentagon and the White House that Palestinian militants were using Al-Shifa Hospital as a command and control point for their troops and for holding captured Israeli soldiers. The Israeli military initiated a ground operation on Wednesday against Hamas militants in the vicinity of Al-Shifa Medical Center in the Gaza Strip. The army's press office stated that the primary goal of the "targeted operation" was to "defeat Hamas and rescue hostages."
