Mediators involved in indirect talks between Israel and Hamas are continuing their efforts to ensure the full implementation of the Gaza ceasefire agreement, according to Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qassem.
“The mediators are maintaining contact to guarantee that all stages of the ceasefire deal are carried out and to pressure Israel to move forward with negotiations on the second phase,” Qassem said in a statement published on Hamas’ Telegram channel.
He added that Hamas hopes the mediators’ efforts will succeed and that Israel will follow through on its commitments at every stage of the agreement.
Meanwhile, White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt confirmed that the US is holding direct talks with Hamas.
