The Hamas movement has provided Egyptian rescue teams with information about locations with the bodies of killed captives within the Gaza Strip, according to Al Arabiya.
The channel reported that the group "provided the Egyptian team operating in the sector with information about the whereabouts of bodies," though the broadcast did not specify how many Israelis might be located in the indicated areas.
A Hamas representative stated that "the only obstacle preventing the completion of recovering bodies from the rubble is the lack of specialized equipment and machinery."
An Egyptian team of rescue and military specialists recently entered Gaza to participate in operations to locate and recover the remains of killed Israelis. According to The National, the team arrived Saturday evening and will operate in areas not controlled by Israeli military forces. Additionally, Egyptian experts will work to neutralize unexploded ordnance remaining from the two-year armed conflict.
While sources didn't specify the team's size or equipment types, they noted the mission is being closely coordinated with Israel and the United States.
The development follows earlier statements by Hamas politburo member Mousa Abu Marzouk, who said the movement intends to transfer to Israel all bodies it can locate in Gaza. Palestinian groups have repeatedly noted that recovery efforts face significant challenges due to the extensive destruction throughout the enclave.
