The Palestinian movement Hamas is counting on Russia's support in ensuring compliance with the ceasefire agreement reached with Israel in the Gaza Strip, as well as in rebuilding the enclave. Khaled Qaddoumi, Hamas's representative in Iran, made this statement during a phone interview with a TASS correspondent.
“We view Russia as a friendly country, and it can become a partner for our people in Gaza, helping to rebuild the enclave and exerting diplomatic and political pressure on Israel to respect the ceasefire agreement,” said the Hamas representative.
Qaddumi emphasized that Russia's role in the Palestinian issue is seen as “positive, effective, and supportive,” and expressed hope that it could assist in advancing Palestinian rights.
