Investigators have identified another person involved in the murder of Russian soldiers in Syria in 2015, it turned out to be a local resident named Adi bin Adnan. This was reported to RIA Novosti by the press service of the Investigative Committee.
The agency noted that a photo of bin Adnan with a gun posing next to the body of Su-24M pilot Oleg Peshkov was found on the Internet. The evidence confirmed his involvement in the alleged crimes.
"In this regard, a decision to bring him on charges of murder and attempted murder, desecration of the body of the dead as part of an illegal armed group was issued. Ramadan Adi bin Adnan has been put on an international wanted list," the IC added.
A Russian court arrested the militant in absentia. Earlier, 14 members of illegal armed groups were accused of that criminal case, all of them are also on the international wanted list.
The Su-24, commanded by Peshkov, was shot down by a Turkish F-16 over Syrian territory on November 24, 2015. The pilot and navigator Konstantin Murakhtin ejected, but Peshkov was shot by militants as he landed. His comrade-in-arms was rescued by a search group of Russian infantry with fire support from Syrian special forces. Marine Alexander Pozinich was killed during the operation.
