In Gaza, 150 Patients at Nasser Hospital Deprived of Medical Care

19 February

At least 150 patients who are unable to move independently are  deprived of medical care at Nasser Hospital in the town of Khan Younis, Gaza Strip, according to the Ministry of Health of the Palestinian enclave, Al Jazeera reports.

The ministry stated that these patients remain inside the hospital complex, unable to receive the assistance of doctors due to their mobility limitations.

Al Jazeera further reported that over  70 employees of the Nasser Center were arrested by the Israeli military, which ordered the patients to evacuate immediately. Some patients left the hospital, while others, including those receiving dialysis and those in intensive care, were forced to stay. At least four patients died after the electricity and oxygen supply was cut off, and the lives of six others, including three children, are in danger.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) began the operation at Nasser Hospital on February  15. The operation resulted in the detention of dozens of Palestinians, including more than 20 individuals reportedly involved in the October 7,  2023, attack on Israel. The IDF allegedly discovered "mortar shells, grenades, and Hamas weapons" on the hospital grounds.
