Indonesia Urges Immediate Halt to Arms Deliveries to Israel and Calls for Accountability at UN Security Council

24 January

Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi has appealed for an immediate cessation of all arms deliveries to Israel and emphasized the need to hold Israel accountable for its actions in Gaza. Speaking at the UN Security Council's open debate on the Middle East situation, Minister Marsudi asserted that halting weapon supplies to Israel is essential to prevent the use of arms against innocent civilians. She further stressed that no nation should be exempt from accountability for atrocities committed in Gaza.

Minister Marsudi announced Indonesia's intention to submit an oral statement to the International Court of Justice in February, seeking an advisory opinion in line with the UN General Assembly's mandate. The statement aims to address the situation in the Gaza Strip, and Marsudi affirmed Indonesia's commitment to utilizing all available channels to support Palestine and pursue justice for the affected state.
