The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia summoned the ambassadors of Denmark and Sweden in response to the reported desecration of the holy Quran in their countries, the Antara news agency reported.
The Indonesian side expressed its strong condemnation of the desecration of the holy Quran to the heads of the Danish and Swedish diplomatic missions during their summons at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. "Such actions cannot be justified as freedom of expression, as they carry significant consequences. We expect that the organizers of these actions will face appropriate and fair punishment. Other countries share a similar viewpoint regarding these incidents," Antara quoted an Indonesian Foreign Ministry spokesman as saying.
