Iran Intends to Develop Relations with Global Powers on Equal Terms

25 September

Iran is ready to build relationships with other nations across various sectors but only under conditions of equal partnership, stated the President of the Islamic Republic, Masoud Pezeshkian, during his address at the UN General Assembly.

Pezeshkian emphasized that for a better future, Iran is prepared to enhance economic, social, political, and security partnerships with world powers and its neighbors, but strictly on a foundation of equality. He further urged that the global community should respond appropriately to Iran's message of peace. “The suitable response to Iran's peace message should not be the imposition of further sanctions, but rather the fulfillment of existing commitments to lift them. This would benefit the Iranian people and lay the groundwork for more constructive agreements,” the president stated.

Earlier on Monday, Pezeshkian, speaking at a roundtable with journalists in New York, affirmed that Iran is ready to fully return to compliance with the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and is not seeking to destabilize the region.
