Iran' MFA: Second Afghanistan Meeting with Russia to Be Held in March

The second meeting of Afghanistan’s neighboring countries, with Russia’s participation at the level of special envoys, will take place in March in Pakistan’s capital, according to a statement issued by Iran’s Foreign Ministry following the first round of talks held on Sunday.

 

“The participants also welcomed Pakistan’s readiness to host the second round of meetings of special representatives of Afghanistan’s neighboring countries in Islamabad in March next year,” the statement said.

The first meeting on Afghanistan, attended by special envoys from Pakistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, China, and Iran, was held on December 14 in Tehran at Iran’s initiative. Russia was represented by Zamir Kabulov, Russian President’s Special Envoy for Afghanistan.
