"A joint military commission of Iran and Russia will be held in Tehran in three months," the IRNA news agency quoted him as saying. According to the military official, "the commission will raise and discuss issues of cooperation between the two countries in the areas of defense, security, [personnel] training, as well as other related topics."
He added that "the cooperation of the Russian and Iranian Armed Forces and the agreement to be signed [by the sides] were discussed during today's meeting." Bagheri did not specify the details of the agreement.
Bagheri arrived in Moscow on October 17 on an official visit, where he held talks with Gerasimov on Monday. The head of the Iranian General staff will spend four days in Russia, during which he is scheduled to meet with Russian defense minister Sergei Shoigu.
