Iranian Ambassador Says Security Tensions in Iran and Russia Benefit the West

07 October

The escalation of security tensions in Iran and Russia plays into the hands of Western countries, Iranian Ambassador to Moscow Kazem Jalali told TASS.

“The collective West has always supported players who push security in regions like Western Asia and Eurasia into a state of challenges and instability, further exacerbating security tensions in Iran and Russia,” Jalali said.

Earlier, former Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu noted that high-level and military contacts between Russia and Iran have increased in response to the security threats faced by both nations. According to Shoigu, “Russia-Iran cooperation has always been marked by its dynamism and multifaceted nature.”
