General Gholam Ali Rashid, Commander of Khatam-al Anbiya Central Headquarter, said that any country that supports Israel in its actions against the Islamic Republic will "pay the costs". The Tasnim news agency reported this on Wednesday.
"The Zionist regime (in Israel - TASS) is considered as the number one threat to Iran’s national security. <...> All governments that cooperate with the Zionist regime in threatening the national security of the Islamic Republic of Iran will pay the costs," Rashid said. According to the general, Israel poses a real threat to Iran's nuclear facilities and its actions are carried out "in coordination with and under the auspices of the United States."
Iran traditionally considers Israel to be the republic's main enemy, along with the United States. The confrontation is conditioned by the policy of Tel Aviv regarding the Palestinian territories where the expansion of Jewish settlements continues. Moreover, the Israeli authorities actively oppose the renewal of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) on the Iranian nuclear program. Jewish Prime Minister Yair Lapid has repeatedly stressed that Israel will not consider the agreement with Tehran legally binding for itself and will continue to oppose Iran's nuclear program with all its might even in the case of a new deal.
