Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed al-Sudani has proposed holding a regional dialogue conference in Baghdad with the participation of representatives from all Middle Eastern countries. He made this statement during his visit to Iran.
“We call for a regional conference in Baghdad in the format of a comprehensive dialogue that would ensure peace and security in the Middle East while strengthening trust-based relations among the countries of our region,” Iraqi news agency INA quoted al-Sudani as saying. He emphasized the importance of Middle Eastern nations transitioning “from mutual threats to addressing current issues” to resolve their existing differences.
Details regarding the proposed date and participants of the conference have not yet been disclosed.
