Ismail Safi, a member of the Turkish Presidential Council for Security and Foreign Policy, shared positive emotions from visiting Kazan as part of the XVI International Economic Summit “Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum 2025”.
“Tatarstan, like Kazan itself, has important historical and cultural significance,” the Turkish politician emphasized.
Mr. Safi noted the importance of Tatarstan as a bridge between Russia and the Islamic world due to its geopolitical location and status. However, this mission is not limited to mediation.
"Tatarstan is a shining example, both for Russia and for the entire world, of the friendly coexistence in one region of representatives of different ethnic groups, peoples and religious confessions. This was the case in the past, and this is how we see the republic today," the Turkish politician said.
Mr. Safi represents Türkiye at the KazanForum for the fourth time. During the economic summit, the Turkish delegation discussed current issues with Islamic figures from various countries, as well as ways to expand dialogue with Russia.
"As a result, we become witnesses of productive work. Naturally, having returned to our homeland, we share all this with colleagues and friends. We try to be as useful as possible and make our contribution," noted Mr. Safi.
The Turkish politician recalled the great tragedy unfolding in the Middle East, particularly in Gaza. According to Safi, he and his colleagues are trying to find solutions to end this catastrophe.
In conclusion, Mr. Safi expressed words of gratitude to the President of Russia Vladimir Putin, the Rais of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the organizers of the International Economic Summit “Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum”.
