Israeli Forces Clash with Palestinians in Al-Arroub Refugee Camp

20 February

Israeli forces clashed with Palestinians in the Al-Arroub refugee camp north of Hebron in the West Bank, as reported by the Palestinian news agency WAFA.

According to WAFA, Israeli soldiers stormed into the camp, leading to clashes. The use of live ammunition, flash-bang grenades, and tear gas by the military resulted in dozens of injuries, with one person shot.

Simultaneously, raids and arrests were reported in the towns of Tubas, Qalqiliya, Sinjil, Biddu, and several other locations west of Ramallah, according to Al Jazeera.

The escalation in the Middle East followed an incident where Hamas fighters from the Gaza Strip infiltrated into Israel on October 7. The attack was purportedly in response to Israeli actions against the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem. In retaliation, Israel imposed a complete blockade on Gaza and launched strikes against the enclave, as well as parts of Lebanon and Syria. Clashes have also erupted in the West Bank.
