January 20 State Duma session to begin with speech by Iranian President

On January 20, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi will address the Duma, the State Duma session, Alexander Zhukov, First Deputy Speaker of the Duma, announced on Monday following the Duma Council.


"Thursday's session will begin with a speech by the president of Iran," he said.


In late 2021, Islamic Republic government spokesman Bahadari Jahromi said Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi would visit Russia in early 2022 at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin.


On Friday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that Putin would take an "inventory" of the entire agenda of dialogue between the two countries together with his Iranian counterpart during his upcoming visit to Russia.
