On November 23-25, 2021, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, under the auspices of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, a meeting of the Group of Strategic Vision "Russia - Islamic World" will be held on the theme "Russia - Islamic World: Dialogue and Cooperation Prospects".
The focus of the meeting will be on new opportunities for interaction between the Russian Federation and Muslim countries, as well as a number of topical issues in the international agenda.
The planned sessions will discuss the issues of interfaith dialogue and understanding; trade and economic ties between Russia and the Islamic world, as well as the prospects of the formation of new models of peace in the face of threats to international stability.
The meeting will also address issues of interaction between Russia and the Islamic world in the promotion and defense of traditional cultural and ethical values, prospects for the development and implementation of joint programs to promote the ideas of cultural, spiritual, religious diversity of the modern world, and to intensify regional cooperation.
Among the topical international issues are terrorism, international peace and security, the role of international organizations in the peaceful settlement of conflicts, ways of strengthening peace and development of cooperation in a post-Cold War world, dialogue and cultural and humanitarian rapprochement.
Guests and speakers at the event will include: Rustam Minnikhanov - the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Chairman of the GSV "Russia-Islamic World", Hussein Ibrahim Taha - the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC); Walid Bin Abdul Karim - the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of KSA; Farit Mukhametshin - the Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs, Deputy Chairman of the GSV "Russia-Islamic World"; Muhammad Al-Issa - the Secretary-General of the Muslim World League; Nayef Falah al-Hajraf, the Secretary-General of the Arab Gulf Cooperation Council; Ahmed Qatabi, the Advisor to the Secretary-General of the Arab League; Mouhamed Khouraichi Niass - the Secretary-General of the Parliamentary Union of OIC Member States; Ilyas Umakhanov, the First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Science, Education and Culture and Chairman of the Hajj Commission.
The sessions will also be attended by heads of subjects of the Russian Federation, Russian and foreign public figures, diplomats, representatives of scientific and religious circles.
Prince Khalid al-Faisal, the Advisor to the King of Saudi Arabia and Governor of Mecca Province, will be the guest of honor at the meeting of the GSV "Russia-Islamic World".
