Jordanian and Russian Foreign Ministers Discuss Syria

Jordan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Ayman Safadi, held a phone conversation with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov to discuss the situation in Syria and efforts to address the crisis in Gaza. This was announced by Jordan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs on its X account.

 

According to the statement, the ministers also explored "ways to strengthen relations" between Amman and Moscow.

 

During the conversation, Safadi expressed Jordan's readiness to support "the brotherly Syrian people during this historic moment," emphasizing respect for their will and choices. The Jordanian foreign minister condemned "ongoing Israeli attacks on Syrian territories," labeling Israel's actions as aggression and a violation of international law. He further stressed that ending Israel's aggression in Gaza would be the first step toward de-escalating tensions in the Middle East.

 

The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that both ministers agreed to continue efforts to enhance bilateral relations between their countries.
