The pivotal factor for recognizing the authority of the Taliban movement (banned in Russia) in Afghanistan could be the establishment of an ethnically and politically inclusive government, Zamir Kabulov, the Special Presidential Representatvie for Afghanistan, said during a discussion on Afghanistan.
"We anticipate further constructive actions from Kabul aimed at creating a fully inclusive cabinet in terms of both ethnicity and political representation. [...] In the future, this could serve as the foundation for the official recognition of the new Afghan leadership," Kabulov stated.
Kabulov highlighted that Russia's stance on potentially removing Taliban members from the United Nations Security Council sanctions list is contingent on their adherence to commitments related to cabinet formation.
