Director of the Center for Strategic Forecasting of IСESCO (ICESCO – Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) Kais Hammami during the 10th meeting of the Group of Strategic Vision “Russia – Islamic World” (GSV), which took place on December 11-12 in Malaysia, spoke about the idea of establishing the Group, of which he is a member. According to Mr. Hammami, the main goal of the innovative idea, which originated almost 20 years ago in Malaysia, was to track changes that will affect the Islamic world in all aspects.
Today, in 2024, there are several changing variables that affect the modern world as a whole. There are factors that can affect the future, such as the rapid population explosion. In addition, during the COVID-19 pandemic, it was said that more than half of the professions would disappear in the future, and today we are talking about 85% of professions. At the same time, the idea of "two worlds" arose: a smart one and a different, less smart one. That is, we are less smart than our parents; our parents are less smart than our grandparents; and our children will be less smart than us. For this reason, the world will face many difficulties and problems tomorrow, explained Mr. Hammami.
“The Group of Strategic Vision “Russia – Islamic World” pioneered the idea of tracking changes. But now we have a greater meaning, which we express through strategic foresight, which allows us to build dynamic scenarios of changes in the Western world”, - Mr. Hammami noted.
The Director of the ICESCO Centre for Strategic Forecasting also shared the successes of the organisation he heads, founded four years ago. The main goal of the Centre is to monitor changes in the Islamic world and play an active role in disseminating culture among member states. The Centre is preparing prospective studies with strategic dimensions, as well as training in decision-making in the field of strategic foresight. Currently, three thousand people are being trained in strategic diplomacy to support member states in ensuring the continuity of strategic indicators.
"IСESCO is interested in artificial intelligence, as well as the ethics of this area of computer science. We are in the process of finalizing the first charter of the organization on artificial intelligence. The document takes into account the specifics of the Islamic world", - added Mr. Hammami.
However, as the director of the ICESCO Center for Strategic Forecasting noted, in today's circumstances we should talk about the ethics of the future. This direction is more complex compared to the ethics of artificial intelligence and includes modeling a better future for the entire world and the Islamic world in particular.
