Kazakhstan has no concerns about territorial claims from Russia. This statement was made by Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev during a press conference following his talks with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
"We do not have any concerns regarding territorial claims from Russia. We maintain regular friendly contacts on a bilateral basis and within the framework of relevant integration associations," emphasized Tokayev.
He pointed out that the border between Kazakhstan and Russia had been delimited and, to a large extent, demarcated, confirmed, and ratified by the parliaments of both countries.
Tokayev underscored the longstanding traditions of cooperation between Russia and Kazakhstan, including trade and humanitarian ties. He mentioned the 2013 treaty on allied relations signed between the two countries.
During his official visit to Germany, President Tokayev held talks with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz. He also planned to participate in a meeting between the leaders of Central Asian states and Germany, deliver a speech at the international forum Berlin Global Dialogue, and engage in a series of meetings with representatives of the German business community.
